As part of HUB Montreal, the Regroupement des producteurs multimédia has launched the Jam 360 challenge for four Montreal digital production studios. The challenge was to develop, in two days, an interactive concert prototype. The proposal of the XYZ team and of the musician Julien Sagot distinguished itself from others by its judicious use of scenography and of furniture. Julien Sagot and XYZ have won a $ 5,000 bursary from the Quartier des Spectacles that will allow them to pursue the development of their concept. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 15th at the Monument-National in Montreal, after the unveiling of the prototypes.

The team, Dildel Lavoie-Caceres, Associate at XYZ, Dimitri Delphin, Interactive Production Manager, Erwan d’Orgeville, Programmer, Salim Lounis, Interactive Programmer, Philippe Provencher, Interactive Motion Designer and musician Julien Sagot have elaborated a concert, according to the cabaret formula, where the tables of the broadcasting space are transformed into interfaces which make it possible to interact with the scenography. A curtain of beads in front of the artist becomes a projection screen more or less hazy when an interactive sequence is triggered by a spectator’s movement above a table.

This co-creation activity brought together three other teams of companies specializing in digital production and groups from the Quebec musical scene. Ingrid Ingrid, Dpt., Folklore, Ragers, AfrotroniX and We Are Wolves also performed.
